March 2026
Sproughton Parish Council is delighted to share that the new play area is now open to the public.
A formal press launch will take place on Saturday 7 March at 10.30am, offering an opportunity to showcase the facilities and acknowledge everyone involved in bringing the project to life.
To mark the occasion more fully, a community fun morning will be held when the warmer weather arrives, giving families and residents the chance to celebrate together and enjoy the new space.

Fantastic news
The Parish Council, as sole trustees of the playing field, are delighted to announce that they have been awarded a grant of over £110,000 from Babergh District Council @baberghsuffolk and from other organisations to replace the old play area equipment. The equipment we are proposing to install will enhance the recreational opportunities for children and families in our neighbourhood, creating a safe and enjoyable space for outdoor activities for all ages. The new play area will also feature equipment designed to accommodate children with disabilities, including sensory play elements, accessible swings, and ground-level activities that promote engagement and interaction. The play area will also include wheelchair access. Work will hopefully start in January 2026.
The work on the new play area is in full swing.
